Domestic air traffic sees marginal growth
India’s domestic air passenger traffic recorded marginal growth of 1.7% through the first six months of 2012.
Data submitted by various domestic airlines shows that a total of 354.52 lakh passengers flew between January and July 2012, compared to 348.47 lakh during the corresponding period last year.
The total number of domestic passengers carried by the scheduled domestic airlines for the month of July 2012 was 45.37 lakh.
IndiGo dominated the market with 12.26 lakh, followed by Jet Airways (8.8 lakh), Air India (8.2 lakh), and SpiceJet (8.0 lakh).
