Destination Resorts & Hotels (DRH) has announced the development of a new hotel and tourist attraction in Nusajaya, southern Malaysia.
The new Traders Hotel Puteri Harbour, which will be managed by Shangri-La, will feature a range of facilities including a skybar, three swimming pools, a spa and gym, plus extensive meeting space. The new hotel is scheduled to open in the second quarter of this year.
Next to the Traders Hotel will be a new family entertainment complex called the Little Red Cube. Spread over 4.2 hectares of land, the development is an indoor theme park with several individual areas, such as Hello Kitty Town.
“We are proud to introduce Traders Hotel along with Little Red Cube, our key developments in Puteri Harbour,” said Nadziruddin Basri, managing director of DRH. “These developments will add to the leisure offerings in the region, stimulate the economy in the surrounding areas, create employment for our local talents as well as develop a pool of hospitality professionals.”
The hotel and attraction are being developed at a cost of MYR400 million (US$129m), and DRH expects them to draw up to 500,000 visitors to the Nusajaya region in 2014.
