Edinburgh Airport has sealed a deal with easyJet to see new routes launch in March.
The deal is expected to bring more than 15 million passengers to Edinburgh in the next five years and follows after the airline announced it will place two additional planes at the Scottish airport next year.
“This is a landmark deal for this airport and one that we have worked exceedingly hard with easyJet to land,” said Gordon Dewar, chief executive of Edinburgh Airport. “Being an independent business, we can now bring commerciality and customer focus to bear that allows us to complete deals of this kind. Both Carolyn [McCall, chief executive of easyJet] and myself are ambitious for Edinburgh and we look forward to working with her and her team to make our on-going partnership a success.”
