Emirates celebrates UAE–Kuwait week with special initiatives

Emirates has joined the UAE–Kuwait Week celebrations, highlighting the enduring ties between the two nations with a series of special onboard initiatives. The airline introduced traditional desserts across all cabin classes on its 30 weekly flights between Dubai and Kuwait, including a Pistachio Rahash Tart for all passengers, a Gahwa Tart for First and Business class, and a Toffee Date Cake for Premium Economy and Economy passengers. Additionally, passengers were treated to a selection of Arabic content, featuring popular Kuwaiti films, TV shows, and music albums from renowned Kuwaiti artists.

Flight EK855 on 2 February was notably commanded by Kuwaiti Captain Husain Alabdulmohsen and Emirati First Officer Ishaq Abdulla, symbolising the cooperation and shared values between the UAE and Kuwait. Emirates has been serving Kuwait since 1989, initially with a Boeing 727 and now with retrofitted Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s, offering Premium Economy cabins and signature products.

The airline has carried over 16 million passengers on more than 81,000 flights to and from Kuwait, connecting travellers to over 150 global destinations. Kuwait was among the first to welcome the Airbus A350 in January 2025, enhancing the onboard experience with wider aisles, quieter cabins, and advanced lighting.

Emirates also supports trade between Kuwait and the world with a weekly freighter service, transporting over 165,000 tonnes of cargo in the past five years. An interline agreement with Kuwait Airways further connects passengers to 19 destinations on the Emirates network, enhancing regional access
