Etihad Airways and Air Canada have signed an agreement to codeshare on each other’s’ flights.
The two have previously had an interline agreement and will now extend to a codeshare on routes between London, Toronto and Abu Dhabi.
The services are expected to be introduced in the third quarter of this year, with Etihad’s code to be placed on Air Canada flights between Toronto and select North America points, while Air Canada’s code will be placed on Toronto-Abu Dhabi and the London Heathrow-Abu Dhabi route.
“This is without doubt a significant development in the relationship between Etihad Airways and Air Canada and very much supports the aim to simplify travel between the United Arab Emirates and Canada,” said James Hogan, president of Etihad Airways.
