This is an opportunity to join a global, fast paced company as a Business Intelligence Analyst. Working alongside both the local Finance and Global BI teams, you will be instrumental in improving the Power BI product within Flight Centre.
To be successful in this role you need to be passionate about data analytics and data optimisation. You will be knowledgeable with the concept of DevOps and its application both in an IT and non-IT environment. Familiarity with SQL language is essential with an interest in learning other programming and statistical languages. You will be maintaining the data dictionary and optimising the performance of the Development and Production BI environments. You will be reviewing current data flow processes and designing and developing ways to automate and optimise those process.
Performance Objectives:
Governance
Within the first three months, you will:
Gain a solid understanding of our current BI architecture and its different components
Ensure that all datasets are built on time and without any failures
Review and correct any data latency or dataset failures
Keep an up-to-date account of all failures and the actions taken to eliminate those failures
Understand and manage the release to production for our datasets
Maintain and monitor the security settings for the front-end users
Recommend, where applicable, data minimisation solutions and changes to optimise our builds
Supporting the Report Writers and Analysts
This include but not limited to
Actively contribute to training programs for the Report Writer community
Provide ad-hoc support regarding existing and new data models, including ad-hoc models
Ensure all data sources and models are documented to enable self-servicing where practical
Work closely with other members in the BI team to ensure that Data requirements are well understood and delivered.
Optimisation and Efficiency
Working closely with our Global BI, Finance and Technology teams you will
Keep up to date on any future releases for our BI tool and how those new releases can be beneficial in solving current issues or if the new release might present an issue with our data modelling
Understand the future data modelling needs of the business and how this fits into the BI road map
Reducing IT costs by minimising our data consumption both at the building stage and querying stage of our datasets
Understand and work with Data engineers to optimise data modelling in the Azure Stack
Contribute to ad-hoc projects

Minimum requirements:
Minimum 1 year prior experience developing in Power BI
Experience working within the Azure environment
SQL Language
