DET Operations Executive 

Discova is on the lookout for a passionate, community oriented Discova Educational Travel (DET) Operations Executive to join our global team!  

About the Opportunity 

As part of the DET Operations team, you are responsible for providing operational support to enable our high functioning, motivated DET team to create, sell and operate experiential education tourism products in all Discova destinations. You are passionate and committed to achieving Discova’s purpose of “opening doors to a world of possibilities”, by ensuring our products benefit the communities we work with through poverty reduction, job creation and natural and cultural preservation. At the same time, these products enable life-long learning outcomes for visiting student groups and enhance their world both personally and academically/professionally. 

 

Your main responsibilities are:    

Develop and maintain superior working relationships with partner communities, local agencies, NGOs and authorities, to facilitate DET experiential learning and community project development and management. 

Plan, conduct and assess educational and community-based activities that allow external customers (visiting student groups) to achieve learning objectives and to integrate with the host community. 

Be knowledgeable on DET products and assist research by identifying and developing products suitable to specific DET markets and opportunities.  

Accompany DET groups as required to develop and maintain superior working relationships with external customer leaders. 

 

About you  

The Essentials: 

A degree in tourism and hospitality is an advantage. 

Minimum 2 years’ experience in the travel industry is preferred. 

Fluent in both written and spoken English is required. 

Advanced understanding of the region, including outdoor activity safety knowledge and skills, is desirable.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Discova’s systems would be an advantage.
