Event Manager

Assist the Event Manager/Director in establishing correct systems and processes from the outset to ensure timely, error-free event management.
Effectively negotiate and manage air, hotel, transport and other program components to ensure accuracy and seamlessness.
Communication
Maintain effective and customer focused communication throughout with all stakeholders.
Respond to all client inquiries professionally and within the agreed timeframes and ensure client satisfaction with the response.
Reporting
Ensure all delegate data is accurately processed including travel and accommodation and monies held on file before payments are made.
Maintain accurate files, budgets & critical paths in order to adhere to deadlines and budgets, attrition and cancellation deadlines as per signed contracts.
Training
Participate in the available training opportunities, directed by your Business Leader.
Experience & Qualifications:
Event management experience
Experience with event management software, preferably Cvent
MICE product experience is an asset
A combination of in-house and agency even management experience is an asset
Knowledge of major suppliers and relevant MICE products/destinations is an asset
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with business owners, decision-makers, and managers
High attention to detail
A positive attitude and a will to succeed
Strong time management skills and professionalism
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Flexibility to work overtime as required
