Purpose of the Financial Accountant:
This role looks after the financial accounting for the Flight Centre Travel Group Leisure Brand operations. The decentralised financial accounting role supports the Australian Leisure business and requires you to have a disciplined financial control mindset, diligent work ethic, be proactive in finding solutions, have strong customer and teamwork skills, time management skills and ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment. This is an established arm of our business which we see growing exponentially over the next year and into the future.
This role is great for someone looking to progress their career in a large ASX listed company, with an operational support focus. We are looking for a Financial Accountant to support our Online division of our Leisure brand. This role will support our three main methods for online/support bookings (i.e. sales outside of our bricks and mortar Store Network):
*Online sales channel – online self-bookings
*Sales centre operation – phone sales bookings supported by a consultant
*Call centre operations – phone support managing existing booking needs (amendments)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with half year and year end statutory audits
Balance Sheet Reconciliations across the Leisure business
Protect our business by monitoring and reviewing at risk items
Constantly look to improve efficiencies within finance workflow processes
Month-end accounting for the Leisure business to assist in the GL close process
Timely and accurate preparation of monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reviews
Assist with special projects and the implementation of systems and process improvement initiatives as they arise
Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and minimum standards for financial systems and processes
There will be an element of forecasting within the role, in addition to liaising with business partners to support their business decisions using accurate financial information
Skills/Experience:
CA/CPA or studying towards
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar
High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressure
Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to develop relationships at all levels
