Job Description

This position is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth and continued success of our Global Corporate Business. The combination of significant investment in our Global Corporate Technology offering and the increase in shared resources and global alignment across the Marketing, Leadership and Technology disciplines mean this role is crucial in ensuring costs, projects and charging models are appropriately accounted for, managed and controlled. 
 
We are looking for somebody who can develop excellent relationships with the Global Corporate Technology Product teams and the management team of our various global and regional corporate brands. Someone who can deliver first class financial control, reporting and analysis in a timely and accurate manner.
 
The position requires you to have the motivation and ability to work well autonomously and as part of the Global Finance team, displaying the drive and energy needed to be successful in a fast-moving business. 
Main responsibilities
Analyse and challenge business activity, providing recommendations to drive business improvements and profitability
Provision of timely and accurate reporting to track  performance and guide decision making
Creation of timely and accurate management accounts
Development and maintenance of a robust framework of financial control specifically covering overhead spend and accrual process
Completion of accurate mid-month estimates and end of month flash figures
Review the Global Corporate balance sheet and understand the Balance Sheet standards
Be a key member of the Finance team and wider operations team
Responsibilities
Work alongside the various business leaders to develop an excellent understanding of their business to allow you to make a valued contribution in business decision-making
Assist the business leaders with understanding the financial implications of all business decisions through the production of ad hoc analysis and ongoing tracking of business performance
Provide appropriate levels of challenge to the business with the aim of maximising business profit and controlling costs.  This will be achieved by active involvement in the following: target setting, budgeting, reforecasting, return on investment analysis and other ad hoc analysis to support cost control, business efficiency and profit optimisation
Responsibility for all financial reporting including production and review of profit and loss statements. 
Develop & maintain local reporting processes & systems which allow the business to report & track key performance indicators & key business drivers
Facilitate the production of annual budgets, regular reforecasts and weekly estimates.  This will involve developing appropriate reporting processes and providing finance expertise
Provide training as appropriate so business leaders are able to complete all monthly financial responsibilities
Provide timely, complete and accurate management accounts including balance sheet postings and bank reconciliation in line with company standards
Development and maintenance of a robust framework of financial control specifically covering overhead spend and accrual process
Take personal responsibility for fostering a strong team spirit and morale within the team and Finance department
Identify areas for improvement within the team and identify efficiencies and growth requirements as appropriate
Be able to provide support and cover for other members in all Finance teams to allow the department flexibly to manage workloads and provide cover for holidays and absences
Qualifications
Degree level education and studying a professional Accounting qualification ACA / CIMA / ACCA
Minimum 3 years management accounts experience in commercial business within a career spanning at least 5 years
Excellent system skills particularly Excel
Experience of providing commercial analysis, reporting and recommendations
Experience of Travel industry
