Job Purpose
This role will be a trusted Business Partner and provide procurement expertise to Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG). This position includes the delivery of tangible value through the end-to-end management of strategic sourcing initiatives, development of detailed Category Plans, achieving savings (both hard and cost avoid), development of strong stakeholder relationships, brand understanding, market intelligence and driving innovation.
About the opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced procurement professional to join our procurement team based in South Brisbane. As Category Manager you will play an integral role in driving and supporting FCTG’s strategy and vision throughout the Business. The role will manage multiple sub-categories including People & Culture, Marketing, Finance, and any other non technology categories of indirect spend. The emphasis will be on challenging the status quo and delivering transformational benefit to the Business.
Key accountabilities
The successful candidate will have a proven track record delivering in the following core areas:
Strategic Sourcing
In conjunction with Business Owners and key Stakeholders, develop sourcing strategies and deliver on program of works within the assigned portfolio
Lead end-to-end market engagement activities, including RFx, benchmarking and direct negotiations
Conduct analysis of data and the preparation of complex business cases and Category Plans
Contribute towards cost optimisation targets and enhance revenue generating opportunities
Identify and implement process improvements and increase productivity
Contract Management
Responsible for the whole lifecycle of contracts within your remit
Manage and maintain accurate contractual information centrally
Provide guidance to the Business on contractual matters
Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance to contractual and regulatory requirements
Report on contractual performance and identified risks
Work closely with the Legal and Leadership teams to deliver outcomes that align with strategy and value benefits
Stakeholder Engagement
Be recognised as a trusted Business Partner and expert within FCTG for anything Procurement related (excluding technology)
Build and maintain open and transparent relationships with Service Owners and business stakeholders at all levels
Provide regular updates on key strategies, projects, risks and continuous improvement programs
Supplier Relationship Management
Support Service/Platform Owners in the facilitation of SRM initiatives
Support the management of supplier performance through contemporary tools and frameworks, including scorecards and performance reviews
Identify and support the development of strategic supplier relationships
Manage supplier risk through mitigation strategies and ensure continuity of supply
Innovation
Continuously remain current with industry trends and new developments
Contribute to knowledge sharing with regional offices around the globe
Facilitate and leverage subject matter expertise available through the supplier base
Active involvement in resulting transformation projects
About you
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Procurement or IT (ITIL and MCIPS preferred)
7+ years relevant procurement and Category Management experience
Strong Procurement, contract and supplier management experience
Deep knowledge of various non-technology related categories of spend
Strong knowledge, understanding and experience in identifying contractual risks, specifically relative to technology purchases and programs of work
Strong commercial acumen with a record of providing insightful business analysis
Exceptional track record building relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
Adaptable and ability to work with ambiguity
Strong negotiation skills, with the demonstrated ability to develop and effectively present coherent, well-structured negotiating positions
Strong knowledge of procurement governance and policies
