FITUR 2026 unites global tourism industry

FITUR 2026, the International Tourism Fair, is set to take place in Madrid from 21 to 25 January 2026, bringing together over 10,000 companies from 161 countries. This 46th edition marks an 11% increase in international participation, highlighting FITUR's status as a leading platform in the tourism sector. Mexico joins as the Partner Country, aiming to bolster its position as the world's fifth most visited destination.

The event will feature the new Knowledge Hub, located in Hall 12, which will serve as a strategic centre for tourism insights. It will host over 200 sessions and more than 250 high-level speakers. Key highlights include the FITUR Experience, focusing on experiential tourism, and the inaugural International Summit on Communication and Tourism, which will address challenges in tourism communication.

FITUR 2026 anticipates a significant turnout, with forecasts exceeding 150,000 professionals and nearly 100,000 public visitors over the weekend. The fair is expected to generate substantial economic impact for Madrid, following the previous edition's contribution of $514 million (€487 million).

The event will also introduce a fast-track entrance and encourage the use of public transport to facilitate access. Over the weekend, FITUR will open to the public, offering a full programme of activities, workshops, and experiences, reinforcing its role as a major public celebration in the tourism sector.
