An additional five hotels in the Philippines have made it into the globally-recognised Michelin Hotels Guide, bringing the total of rated properties in the country to 11.
These new additions to the Guide are Fairmont Makati, Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts, Solaire Resort Entertainment City, Raffles Makati, and Shangri-La The Fort, Manila.
These join properties which were included in the initial run of the hotels guide in Asia last year; namely Admiral Hotel Manila – MGallery, Amanpulo, Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan, Hotel Okura Manila, Nay Palad Hideaway, and The Peninsula Manila.
Recognising excellence
In a statement released on Saturday, 10th May, the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) lauded the inclusion of the five properties, describing the accolade as a recognition of the excellent hospitality that Philippine hotels offer.
The statement declared: “The inclusion of these DOT-accredited hotels in the Michelin Guide not only strengthens the Philippines’ positioning as a destination of choice for world-class hotel and tourism experiences, but also affirms the renowned Filipino warmth and excellence in hospitality, which serve as hallmarks of the country’s tourism brand.”
Earlier this year, the Michelin Guide for restaurants made its Philippine debut and the first country-specific edition will be published next year.
