FL Technics Indonesia adapts operations for Ramadan

FL Technics Indonesia, a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider, has implemented strategic adjustments to accommodate its fasting employees during Ramadan, whilst maintaining its high safety and service standards. The company, part of the FL Technics Group, operates in Indonesia, where the majority of its workforce observes the Islamic holy month, which began in the second half of February 2026.

To address the unique challenges posed by Ramadan, FL Technics Indonesia has modified shift schedules, allowing employees to start and end their workdays earlier. This adjustment ensures that fasting employees can return home in time to break their fast. CEO Martynas Grigas highlighted the importance of these changes, stating, “The majority of our colleagues in both Jakarta and Bali observe Ramadan. Therefore, we make minor adjustments to our shift scheduling.”

Fatigue management is a critical focus during this period, as fasting employees abstain from food and drink during daylight hours. The company employs additional shift planning and close supervision to monitor employee wellbeing and maintain operational standards. Grigas emphasised the role of teamwork, noting, “Our supervisors pay close attention to employee readiness during Ramadan, and they also closely monitor operations as always.”

Beyond operational adjustments, FL Technics Indonesia fosters team bonding through initiatives like providing snack packs for Iftar, the fast-breaking meal, and hosting a traditional staff dinner attended by all employees and management. Grigas described the dinner as “a very important date in the year for our team, and is always a positive and enjoyable night.”

FL Technics Indonesia operates extensive facilities at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta and I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, supported by over 500 aviation experts. The company is part of Avia Solutions Group, the largest aerospace business group from Central and Eastern Europe
