As many as 1,700 people are cut off in tourist areas north of Sydney, after torrential rains caused the Bellinger River to flood, Bloomberg reported the New South Wales State Emergency Service as saying.
The Pacific Highway connecting Sydney to Brisbane was partly closed due to the waters, police said, while the rail line through Coffs Harbour, has also been cut off.
