Activity company Go Ape is to expand into its 29th location this year following a 20% increase in turnover in 2012.
The forest adventure firm, which operate high-level assault courses and Segway tours, is to open a Tree Top Junior and Tree Top Adventure in Tilgate Country Park, Crawley this year as well its five junior sites across the country.
In 2012, its 10th anniversary year, half a million people visited its courses with turnover up to GBP12m. Its expansion in the US will also continue this year with plans to have six courses this year.
“2013 marks the next phase in an exciting new chapter for Go Ape. Last year saw us embark on ambitious growth plans following a rapid rise in consumer demand for outdoor-based activities. It resulted in our best year to date,” said Jerome Mayhew, managing director at Go Ape.
“We are now adding a further nine new activities to our existing stable of 40 in the UK and creating 100 jobs. We believe that such diversification is important, not just from a business point of view but in order to reach out to both new and long-standing Go Ape customers and offer them the opportunity to try something new,” he added.
