Greater Bay Airlines launches Hohhot service

Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) has inaugurated its scheduled service to Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, marking a significant expansion of its network within the Chinese Mainland. The new route, which began on 6 February, will operate four roundtrip flights weekly, specifically on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, connecting Hong Kong and Hohhot.

The launch was supported by Ricky Chong, General Manager of Route Development (Acting) at Airport Authority Hong Kong, who, along with GBA’s Chief Services Officer Stanley Kan and other management representatives, greeted passengers and crew at the boarding gate. Upon arrival at Hohhot Baita International Airport around 5:00pm, a welcoming ceremony was held on the apron.

Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia, is renowned for its blend of grassland culture and modern urban life, earning it the nickname "Grassland City." It is recognised as a National Historic and Cultural City and one of China’s Top Tourist Cities.

The flight schedule for the Hong Kong to Hohhot service includes departures from Hong Kong at 13:55 or 14:15, arriving in Hohhot at 17:00, with return flights departing Hohhot at 17:55 and arriving in Hong Kong at 21:20. This service is part of GBA's broader strategy to enhance connectivity across key destinations, utilising its fleet of Boeing 737-800 and 737-9 aircraft.

For bookings, customers can visit the GBA website, use the mobile app, or contact travel agents. GBA, a value carrier based in Hong Kong, has been operational since July 2022, offering flights to various destinations across Asia
