Himachal Pradesh has been recognised as one of the world's top 10 most welcoming regions, according to Booking.com's Traveller Review Awards 2026. This marks the third consecutive year that Himachal Pradesh has been named India's most welcoming region, with Bir retaining its title as the most welcoming city in India for the second year running.

The awards, based on over 370 million verified traveller reviews, celebrate partners who consistently deliver outstanding hospitality. In India, 17,575 travel partners received awards, an increase from 15,674 in 2025. Hotels led the way with 6,650 awards, followed by homestays, flats, resorts, and guest houses.

Globally, Italy topped the list for the ninth year with 214,666 award-winning partners, followed by France and Spain. The awards highlight destinations where guest experiences are personal and authentic, with Himachal Pradesh being celebrated for its blend of Himalayan landscapes and hospitality.
