HopeGoo, a one-stop travel app initially launched in Mainland China and Hong Kong, has officially expanded its services to Malaysia. The app aims to simplify travel planning by offering affordable flights, hotels, and a unique 24/7 one-on-one WhatsApp butler service. This service, designed to assist travellers at every stage of their journey, is currently focused on tourists visiting China but plans to expand to other destinations soon.
HopeGoo's entry into the Malaysian market is strategic, given Malaysia's strong travel ties with China and the popularity of China as a travel destination for Malaysians. The launch coincides with peak travel seasons such as Chinese New Year and Hari Raya, presenting a timely opportunity for the app to cater to the 91% of Malaysians who travel overseas for leisure, as reported by Tourism Malaysia.
Kent Chin, HopeGoo Malaysia's User Growth Senior Manager, emphasised the app's commitment to providing a seamless travel experience. "Beyond competitive pricing, travellers value peace of mind when they are abroad. With our 24/7 hands-on support, HopeGoo is designed to make travel simpler, more reliable, and more rewarding," he stated.
The app's rollout is supported by its parent company, Tongcheng Travel, which has a strategic partnership with Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. Yu Chi Xiao, Group Vice President of Tongcheng Travel, highlighted the company's focus on localising its services to meet the needs of Malaysian users.
To celebrate its launch, HopeGoo is offering limited-time perks, including discounted eSIM packages, travel vouchers, and referral rewards until 31 January 2026. This expansion marks a significant step in HopeGoo's growth strategy, aiming to become a trusted travel companion for users across Asia.
