The Huntington Convention Centre of Cleveland has announced a significant update to its 19,000-square-foot urban farm, enhancing its role as a sustainability leader since 2015. Operated by Levy, the farm supplies fresh ingredients and supports pollinator health, featuring herbs like Thai basil and lavender, and producing 100 pounds of honey annually.
The latest improvements aim to increase production and enhance guest experiences. New additions include a small orchard with cherry, apple, and pear trees, raised cedar planting beds, and a chicken coop for 12 to 14 chickens. These changes are designed to boost the farm's capacity and visual appeal.
Jude Feyedelem, general manager for Levy Restaurants at the convention centre, stated, “The urban farm has always represented our belief that sustainability and hospitality can thrive together.” The farm also grows vegetables such as sweet potatoes and tomatoes, visible from the centre's "Farm Stage" viewing area.
Michael Campo, general manager of the Huntington Convention Centre for Legends Global, highlighted the farm as a symbol of innovation and sustainability. “These enhancements reflect our shared commitment with Levy to continuously raise the bar for our clients and guests,” he said.
The urban farm continues to serve as a source of fresh ingredients and a conversation piece, reinforcing Cleveland’s reputation for bold thinking about the future
