Norwegian specialist operator Hurtigruten has announced 11 commemorative 11-night cruises as part of its 120 year anniversary. The first voyage will leave Bergen on 21 June 2013 and each subsequent day until 1 July.
The programme will include menus inspired by those onboard the DS Vesteraalen in 1893 and also a call to Lyngenfjord in the Lyngen Alps, all in honour of the first Hurtigruten cruise.
The series has been named ‘In The Wake of Richard With’ after the maiden voyage’s captain Richard With.
The call at Lyngenfjord is unique to this eleven day period, with Hurtigruten never having sailed there before. The destination is 300km north of the Arctic Circle and has one of the most dramatic landscapes within the region.
Prices start from GBP2137 not including flights and transfers, which can be added at GBP450.
