IHG makes hotels available on Ctrip.com

In a further effort to target Chinese travellers, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has begun adding its entire portfolio of global properties to Ctrip.com.
The move is being facilitated by a reservations system connection designed and implemented by DerbySoft Inc. The XML-based connection between IHG and Ctrip went live this week, and over the next several weeks, DerbySoft will continue rolling out IHG’s 4,600 properties on to the Ctrip system.
“We are proud to have created this new reservations connection between these two major industry players,” said DerbySoft’s vice president of connectivity, Keith Cotton. “Our distributed technology platform… includes servers strategically positioned around the globe to provide reduced latency and exceptional system response times for both Ctrip and IHG.”
Ctrip currently offers a collection of more than 250,000 hotels and has more than 60 million registered users.
IHG meanwhile, is currently undertaking a major expansion in China, with 160 properties currently operating and 30% of its entire global pipeline in the country. It has also launched its first brand dedicated to the Chinese domestic market – Hualuxe Hotels & Resorts.
