IHG, Movenpick Accor expand Asian portfolios

Several new hotels have opened across Asia in recent weeks, including new resorts and city properties.
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has celebrated to launch of a new luxury resort in Vietnam.
The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is located on Central Vietnam’s Son Tra Peninsula, overlooking South China Sea. All 197 of the resort’s rooms, suites and beachfront villas, which start from 70m², have been designed to offer sea views South China Sea views.
Meanwhile, Mövenpick is stepping up its global expansion with the signing of two new hotels in Vietnam and the Philippines. The two new properties are the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Quy Nhon in Vietnam and the Mövenpick Hotel Makati City, in the Philippine capital, Manila.
The move is in line with the Swiss hospitality company’s strategy to create a balanced portfolio of approximately 25 hotels in each of the region it operates – Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
In addition, Accor has unveiled a major expansion for Vietnam, including the launch of its ibis brand.
Best Western has also opened a hotel in Bangkok, while the five-star Mia Resort – Nha Trang has opened in Vietnam, with the Anand Collection handling its sales and marketing in the UK.
