IHG has announced the signing of a new InterContinental hotel in Jakarta.
Scheduled to open in 2015, the 480-key the InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah Hotel & Residences will be IHG’s first mixed-use development in Indonesia, combining approximately 300 hotel rooms and 180 serviced residences.
“The signing of InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah Hotel & Residences is a perfect addition to our growing portfolio and will drive forward our expansion in this key growth market.” said Jan Smits, CEO of IHG Asia, Middle East & Africa. “With the country’s exponential growth and infrastructure development, we see considerable potential for our hotel group.”
The addition of the new Indonesian hotel marks the latest phase of the brand’s expansion in the country. The current portfolio of two Indonesian InterContinental hotels will double to four by 2015, with the launch of the Jakarta hotel and the InterContinental Bali Canggu Resort.
