India’s VoA slumps in April

India’s Visa on Arrival (VoA) scheme registered a decline of 7.6% in April 2012. The country issued a total of 1,140 visas on arrival last month, compared to 1,234 visas during April 2011.
During the period January-April 2012, a total number of 5,045 VoAs were issued as compared to 4,139 VoAs during the corresponding period of 2011, an increase of 21.9%.
India currently offers VoA scheme to 11 countries, while the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) plans to extend this facility to three European countries of France, Russia and Germany.
