IndiGo launches ‘UpFront’ for enhanced economy travel

IndiGo, India's leading airline, has unveiled 'UpFront', a new Economy Class option designed to offer travellers enhanced comfort and convenience. Launching on 29 January 2026, 'UpFront' provides front-row seating with extra legroom, complimentary snacks or meals, higher baggage allowance, and hassle-free change and cancellation benefits. This new offering is part of IndiGo's strategy to evolve its product portfolio to meet the growing expectations of its customers.

The introduction of 'UpFront' is a significant step in IndiGo's commitment to providing affordable yet premium travel experiences. Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, stated, “As IndiGo completes nearly two decades of giving wings to the nation, our focus remains on offering reliable, affordable, and increasingly personalised travel experiences to our customers.” This move aligns with IndiGo's broader strategy to cater to diverse traveller needs through a simplified product portfolio, which includes three travel ranges, two cabin categories, and five fare choices.

The airline's reorganisation aims to offer greater customisation, empowering passengers to tailor their travel experiences. IndiGo's product portfolio now includes options like 'Saver', 'Flexi', and 'UpFront' in Economy, as well as 'Stretch' and 'Stretch+' in IndiGoStretch, catering to different comfort and budget preferences.

As IndiGo continues to expand its reach both domestically and internationally, the airline remains committed to its core principles of affordability, simplicity, and reliability, ensuring seamless and flexible travel for millions of flyers.
