International tourists to heal with AYUSH visas

India soon to offer special category of AYUSH visas for tourists visiting India for medical tourism or treatment. AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy treatments in traditional medicine. This will go a long way in promoting traditional medical tourism.

Traditional medicine has really helped Kerala grow tourism. This ability is with the whole of the country. The ‘Heal in India’ can be a big trend of this decade. Yoga has now become the icon of global health and many countries have started integrating it in their health care delivery system.

Government will also soon launch an ‘AYUSH mark’ for standardisation and authentication of quality AYUSH products in the global market.

A dedicated portal has also been launched for the recently formed AYUSH Export Promotion Council. The government is also set to create a network of AYUSH Parks to encourage research and boost indigenous manufacturing of traditional medicinal products.
