Job Description

Financial Controller, Travel Industry, Fully Remote,c£65-70k. A fantastic opportunity to join this small-mid sized, yet growing global travel business where you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of their finance function.

Financial Controller Responsibilities

Short term goals for this position:

  • Responsible for bookkeeping and controlling
  • Change QBO from cash to accrual accounting
  • Redo chart of accounts for management reporting
  • Set up and maintain transfer pricing and internal team’s Revenue model
  • Create and manage department and geography budgets and forecasts
  • Comply with tax regulations in different countries and states
  • Manage reconciliation process for our hundreds of transactions daily
  • Audit operations
  • Create financial reports and scenarios for planning and budgeting
  • Work with technology team to automate reconciliation processes
  • Document processes
  • Manage account receivables

Long term goals:

  • Evolve our reconciliation processes. These are quite dynamic so need someone who is comfortable in working with the technology team to define requirements.
  • Financial due diligence of business partnerships and potential acquisitions/investments
  • Drive financial planning
  • Market analysis to determine appropriate benchmarks for transfer pricing and internal team’s Revenue model
  • Evolve our financial IT systems as needed
  • Set up accounting/admin services to internal clients and potential “external” clients.

Financial Controller skills required

  • A detailed and methodical person who loves to understand the full business picture through numbers
  • Ability to identify any financial anomalies and improve processes or technology so it doesn’t happen again.
  • Experience in the travel and leisure sector would be an advantage but other similar industry experience will also be considered.
  • Global awareness; experience with multiple European and US operations would be an advantage
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and analytical skills
  • A strategic thinker with the willingness to roll your sleeves up and get hands on in different areas of the finance function.

Financial Controller additional details

A basic salary in the region of £65-70k per annum depending on experience
