Head of Software Engineering – Central London/Hybrid – Travel Industry £70-85K. A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior / Head of Software Engineering to work for a forward thinking, tech savvy travel business headquartered in Central London. The role will mainly be office based with some remote working (1-2 days per week) as an option.

Some of the Tech stack you will be using includes .NET Core – Micro Services – Python – AWS – JIRA – Zabbix

Head of Software Engineering Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the company director and COO, you will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 35 developers across 3 remote, international office. You will act as both the technology and business expert, contributing to the overall strategy.

You will set out the companies technology roadmap, ensure technological resources will meet future needs, ensure the quality of output and performance of development teams is as it should be , providing mentorship and leadership as required. You will take the lead on any new projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are defined and met.

Head of Software Engineering Skills Required

• Experience leading remote or outsourced engineering teams
• Excellent leadership capabilities with experience coaching, developing and mentoring engineering / development teams
• Five + years in software development in C#, Python, Java or any other major programming language
• Experience working with high traffic website
• Track record working in cloud environments (ideally AWS)
• Experience of Agile (Scrum) methodologies
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
• In depth knowledge of microservices and API design

Head of Software Engineering additional detail’s

Salary in the region of £70,000 – £85,000 depending on experience
Due to how closely this individual will work with senior leadership, the role will be based in Central London ideally 4 days a week with the option to work remotely 1 (possibly 2 days once settled).
