Claudia Sender has been promoted to CEO of TAM Airlines. Sender was previously VP of the Brazil domestic business at TAM and will report to Marco Antonion Bologna, the CEO of holding company TAM S.A who is working on the LATAM merger. Sender joined TAM in December 2011.
Hannah La Bao has been named as executive handling manager at London Southend Airport, handing its private charters. La Bao has moved from Portugal for the role where she was onsite experience team leader at Lisbon Airport and has also worked a NetJets.
Katherine Melchior-Ray has been named as Hyatt’s new vice president of luxury brands – a new role overseeing the Park Hyatt and Grand Hyatt labels. Melchior-Ray has 20 years’ experience, including spells with Gucci and Louis Vuitton in Japan.
Karen Dawson has been appointed as Hyatt’s new vice president of digital strategy, focusing on the company’s online and social media initiatives. She arrives from US-based creative agency, Two Blue Spruce, where she was principal of digital marketing.
Chris Walker has become Hyatt’s new vice president of brand experience for the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands. With 15 years of hospitality and marketing experience, Walker started his career at Hyatt in 1998 as a management trainee in Dubai.
José Maria Ventosa has been appointed director of sales and marketing at Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, Morocco. Ventosa joins the property from Corinthia Hotel Budapest and has more than 20 years’ experience in hospitality.
Andy Shaw has been named as head of safety at Durham Tees Valley Airport. Shaw joins Peel Airport from holding various safety roles in the airline and airport industries including bmi, easyJet, First Choice and Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
