The three-day Mango Festival opened at the Dilli Haat in Pitampurs today with nearly 500 varities of the fruit on display. The 23rd edition of the festival is organised by the Delhi Tourism with related organisations. Processed mango products, like pickles, chutneys, and mango -related quiz and other competitions are other attractions of the festival.Several growers have come from other parts of the country .India exports about 70,000 tonnes of mango each year and produces about 150,000 tonnes. The King of Fruits finds mention in a lot of literature and the festival celebrates this, with the exhibition also acting as education and entertainment for tourists and locals alike.
