Marriott reaches 100 signings for City Express hotels

Marriott International has announced a significant milestone, reaching 100 signed agreements for its City Express by Marriott properties in the US and Canada. With six properties already opened in 2025 and four more expected by year-end, this expansion highlights the increasing demand for midscale hotels in the region. Noah Silverman, Global Development Officer for the US and Canada, stated, "Reaching 100 signings for City Express by Marriott reflects the strong appetite for midscale in the market."

The City Express brand, initially rooted in the Caribbean and Latin America, is now expanding its reach beyond these regions. Marriott has also signed agreements to introduce the brand in the Asia Pacific region, excluding China, with two properties planned in Osaka, Japan. The brand's focus on efficient, reliable stays caters to value-conscious travellers, offering modern guestrooms, complimentary breakfast, and high-speed internet.

Recent signings include properties in Kissimmee, near Orlando, Dulles, near Washington DC, Amarillo in Texas, Sandusky near Lake Erie, and Carson City in Nevada. These locations are strategically chosen for their connectivity and convenience, appealing to both business and leisure travellers. The brand's conversion-friendly model allows for a swift market entry, providing owners with a seamless integration into the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programme.

Marriott's strategy to grow City Express in well-connected markets aims to meet the rising demand for midscale accommodations, offering guests more travel options and enhancing the company's global portfolio.
