MAS adds frequency as demand rises
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is increasing flight frequencies from Kuala Lumpur to three Indian cities, in response to growing passenger demand.
Form 1 September, the carrier will introduce ten additional services on routes connecting Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru, to the Malaysian capital.
Speaking to press, Malaysia Airlines Senior Vice President Global Sales & Distribution, Duncan Bureau, said; “We are receiving positive response from the India market and to continue with such interest, we are providing various opportunities for our customers such as increase in the frequency of flights from Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru to Kuala Lumpur,”
These services will add to the 40 existing flights between these destinations, Delhi and Hyderabad.
MAS expects passenger volumes from India to rise 15% through 2012. “Despite the economic slowdown worldwide, India is a growth-centric market for us. We are expecting 15% growth in terms of passenger load from India in 2012 as compared to the previous year,” said Bureau.
