VisitBritain/VisitEngland and Tourism Cares have today launched the Meaningful Travel Map of England, a new digital tool highlighting tourism experiences that deliver tangible social, cultural, and environmental benefits across the country. The launch expands Tourism Cares’ UK portfolio and builds on the existing Meaningful Travel Map of Scotland, which was launched in 2024.
The Map gives travelers a clear and accessible way to find experiences that support local communities, protect natural and cultural assets, and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable visitor economy. Each featured partner has been selected for its verified positive impact and commitment to responsible tourism.
Created in collaboration with Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) destinations, the Map reflects VisitBritain/VisitEngland’s focus on regenerative travel, ensuring that travel helps improve the places visitors explore. The Map organizes impact through four pathways: people, places, partnerships, and growth.
Carl Walsh, VisitBritain’s Senior Vice President, USA, said: "Partnering with Tourism Cares reflects our commitment to responsible travel. This new map for England builds on the Meaningful Travel Map already available in Scotland, showcasing Britain’s wide range of responsible tourism experiences. It makes it easier for visitors from the US and around the world to explore thoughtfully while connecting with local communities, supporting small businesses, and protecting the landscapes and heritage that make these destinations so special.”

At launch, the resource features more than 30 partners across England, including community-led initiatives, inclusive cultural organizations, sustainability-focused accommodations, and nature-based projects. The platform will continue to expand as more destinations join. Discover England's current partners below:
