Momondo Group has boosted its management team as it prepares to expand into new markets.
Matthew Batchelor has been named as group chief technical officer with responsibility for IT across momondo and Cheapflights, with Tore Pein Jensen named as the new chief marketing officer.
The appointments follow the new combined group structure at the company, which has also seen Rick Medlock become non-executive chairman and Pia Vemmelund and Martin Lumbye joining the board.
In addition Rene Freling has moved from Travelzoo to Cheapflights as director of newsletters.
The appointments come as the company launches five new dedicated sites in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Ukraine and New Zealand.
“2013 is shaping up to be an exciting watershed year for Momondo Group and our network of Cheapflights and momondo sites. We have moved on from a lot of the nuts and bolts of acquiring momondo and are now focussed on growth – with a host of new country launches, some fantastic product innovation in the pipeline, significant new business partners and ultimately more happy travel searchers than ever before,” said Hugo Burge, CEO of Momondo Group.
In addition, momondo.co.uk has launched a new Flight Insight tool that shows the impact of six factors on flight prices such as the time of day, the day of flying or airport. Users can search for flights and see a percentage increase when looking into the different factors.
