Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has unveiled a new resort in Koh Samui.
Set on the Thai island’s north coast, the Mövenpick Resort Laem Yai Beach Samui opened on 6 December 2014, offering 50 rooms, including a selection of pool and beachfront villas.
Facilities include a restaurant, bar, three swimming pools and a “herbal wellness retreat”.
“With its stunning beaches, lush jungles and extraordinary cultural heritage, Thailand is a tourism epicentre. The contribution of travel and tourism to Thailand’s economy and employment is significant and we are confident that the country will remain a key leisure destination in the long run,” said Andreas Mattmüller, Mövenpick’s chief operating officer for the Middle East & Asia.
Mövenpick Resort Laem Yai Beach Samui becomes the Swiss hotel group’s third location in Thailand, following its two existing resorts in Phuket.
And the company plans to add four more hotels in the country over the next four years, with openings in Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin and Bangkok.
