Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre has announced the appointment of Kumar Chinnasamy as its new Director of Engineering. With over a decade of experience in hotel engineering and technical operations, Chinnasamy is set to oversee the engineering and maintenance operations at both the hotel and the Hyderabad International Convention Centre.
Chinnasamy's extensive background includes roles with Accor Hotels and the Indian Hotels Company Limited (Taj Group), where he honed his skills in preventive maintenance, energy management, and sustainability initiatives. Known for his hands-on leadership style, he has managed complex engineering functions, ensuring operational efficiency and guest comfort.
In his new role, Chinnasamy will focus on strengthening asset management, driving energy optimisation, and enhancing sustainability practices. "I am delighted to join Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre at a time when the property continues to evolve as a leading hospitality and MICE destination," he said. "I look forward to working closely with the team to enhance engineering excellence and support seamless guest experiences."
Rubin Cherian, General Manager at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre, expressed confidence in Chinnasamy's appointment, stating, "His technical acumen and forward-thinking approach will play a key role in strengthening our engineering function and supporting the property’s continued growth."
The appointment aligns with Novotel Hyderabad's commitment to sustainable operations. The property recently installed a solar energy system with 1,818 panels, meeting nearly 50% of the Hyderabad International Convention Centre's energy requirements and reducing CO₂ emissions by over 1,000 tonnes annually. This initiative underscores the centre's leadership in eco-friendly solutions, setting a benchmark for responsible hospitality in the region.
