PlanetWildlife.com, the wildlife travel and tours company, has announced plans to expand its international operations, and is currently inviting expressions of interest from companies in Australia and Asia. Launched simultaneously in Sweden and India last year, the company is planning to join forces with like-minded operators in the mid- to high-end wildlife/adventure tourism sector, which already have extensive distribution systems in place.
“Although we’re a young company, we’ve already established a strategic network of sales and representation offices all over the world,” said Nick Ladd, Director of PlanetWildlife UK. “But we recognise that we would benefit from amalgamation with established operations in these key markets who can help us with sales distribution and rapid market penetration.
“It makes sense for us to seek out and incorporate respected operations which already have a strong presence in these markets. In return, we can offer a wide range of ready-made wildlife itineraries – including the imminent launch of exciting new China programmes, both inbound and outbound,” he added.
The global wildlife tourism industry has been estimated by the UNWTO to be worth approximately US$22 billion and is growing at 7% year-on-year.
