Ponant Explorations has announced the opening of bookings for 28 Antarctic voyages for the winter of 2027-2028.
The programme will see four ships, including the world’s only luxury icebreaker, Le Commandant Charcot, exploring the White Continent during its limited accessible months.
These voyages promise immersive exploration and exceptional wildlife encounters, including sightings of whales, penguins, seals, and seabirds.
Plying various routes, these journeys highlight the Bellingshausen Sea, Charcot Island, and the Weddell Sea, offering rare encounters with emperor penguins.
Additionally, travellers can explore the Antarctic Peninsula and Patagonia, including South Georgia, the Falkland Islands, and the Chilean fjords.
Where innovation and adventure meet
Le Commandant Charcot, renowned for its technological innovation and commitment to sustainability, will feature prominently in the programme. Its hybrid propulsion system, powered by liquefied natural gas, ensures a more eco-friendly exploration of polar ecosystems.
Two notable voyages aboard this vessel include "In the Wake of Jean-Baptiste Charcot" and "The Emperor Penguins of the Weddell Sea," both promising unforgettable experiences.
Ponant's offerings also include the "Emblematic Antarctica" voyage, ideal for first-time explorers of the continent, and "The Great Austral Loop," which showcases the stunning ecosystems of the Antarctic Peninsula, Falkland Islands, and South Georgia.
Each voyage includes full board, gourmet cuisine, and a range of activities such as Zodiac trips, hiking, and sea kayaking.
Bookings are now open, with prices starting from $18,580 (£14,300) per person.
