Football fans planning trips to next month’s Euro 2012 are now able to buy Ukraine’s currency from all Post Office outlets in the UK.
From Tuesday 22 May, the Ukrainian hryvnia will be available for pre-order and next day delivery at all 11,500 Post Office branches. The Polish zloty is already available nationwide. Post Office Travel Money will also buy back left-over currency when fans return from Euro 2012, provided they keep their sales receipt.
Andrew Brown, the Post Office’s head of travel money commented; “We always recommend that people travelling abroad carry some currency for the country they are visiting and have another form of payment available to ensure that they are covered in all circumstances.
“In Ukraine we recommend always carrying a supply of hryvnia. Although credit and debit cards can be used in the main cities, people travelling outside these or staying in smaller establishments may find they are not accepted.”
