Airport International Group (AIG) responsible for expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) recently announced major improvements in year-on-year passenger traffic and aircraft movements.
Statistics for the month of July 2015 report that QAIA welcomed 749,314 PAX compared to 578,026 PAX, noting a significant 29.6% increase in comparison to last year, and registered 6,926 ACM as opposed to 6,335 ACM, which indicated a 9.3% year-on-year rise.
“July’s positive year-on-year results can be largely attributed to increase in flight activity mainly from across the Gulf, Egyptian, Turkish and Iraqi markets, as well as expansion of QAIA’s network with addition of new airlines. Another key factor for tangible improvements in traffic was Eid Al Fitr, leisure and expat travels. We aim to build on this development,” said AIG CEO, Kjeld Binger.
