Qantas seals labour deal, but strikes continue

Qantas has finalised another new agreement with one of its labourunions, but still faces further strike action over the next two days.
The airlinehas secured deals with its cabin crew and members of the National Union ofWorkers (NUW), but still faces industrial action from the Transport Workers’Union (TWU) and Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) inthe coming days.
The TWU will stage industrial action today with peak timeblockages at airports across Australiaexpected to cause the cancellation of 14 flights on Thursday, and delay afurther 38. Following this on Friday, ALAEA members will down tools in Sydneyfrom 4-8pm.
Qantas said it is still assessing what impact this will have onservices.
The latest agreement covers 360 NUW members employed in engineering,catering and freight facilities across Australiaand includes 3% pay increases over three years.
