Quark Expeditions unveils 2013 Arctic season

Quark Expeditions has unveiled its Arctic 2013 season, which features icebreaker adventures to the North Pole and luxury ship expeditions to Spitsbergen, Greenland and Iceland. The 2013 programme includes the new ‘Greenland Explorer- Valleys and Fjords’ expedition which follows the dramatic coast of Greenland. The journey takes passengers to two of the world’s most Northern Capitals, beginning in Ottawa, Canada and ending in Reykjavik, Iceland or in reverse.
Quark will also offer two eight-day departures to Spitsbergen leaving Longyarben on 6 June and 28 July. The ‘Introduction to Spitsbergen : Polar Bear Safari’ voyages offer special programmes for those travelling with youths aged from 12-17 years, as well as the traditional passenger programmes.
For the first time the Arctic 2013 will be performed by Sea Spirit, Quark’s luxury all-suite ship, which boasts larger suite –sized cabins, all oceanview and with private facilities . Some of Quark’s Arctic voyages will be performed by the most powerful icebreaker available, the Russian scientific ship Victory with its own helicopter onboard to enable access to the northernmost part of the world and provide spectacular sightseeing opportunities.
