Rio rolls out in UK bars
Following the launch of Brazil’s new tourism marketing campaign in the UK, the city of Rio de Janeiro is being promoted in restaurants and bars across the UK.
The Rio Convention and Visitors Bureau has partnered with Las Iguanas, the Latin American restaurant and bar chain, to boost the Brazilian city’s presence in the UK in the build-up to the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, both of which will be held in Rio.
As well as offering special Rio menus, Las Iguanas and the tourist board are also staging a series of culinary, cultural and sporting activities during the Olympics, including events at the Royal Festival Hall, O2 Arena, Spitalfields, and Stratford Westfields restaurants.
On Friday (27 July), Brazil’s president Dilma Rousseff launched a new global tourism promotion in London, titled: “The World Meets Brazil; Come Celebrate Life’.
