Safety guide launched for travel agents

A new guide to safety and security for travel agents has beenlaunched by a team of organisations including ABTA and the Metropolitan Police.The guide, published by the Travel Agent and Bureau Security Forum (TABS)includes a methodical approach to safety and information on less obvious areassuch as robberies.
“There are many types of crime that affect businesses butfew affect a business and its staff in quite the same way as an armed robbery.This can be damaging to a business but more importantly, very traumatic forthose people unfortunate enough to be caught up in it,” said John McEwan, ABTAchairman and CEO of Advantage Travel Centres. “The TABS Forum was set up withthe aim of producing best practise for the industry on combating this type ofcrime and I am pleased to be part of the Forum in my roles at both Advantageand ABTA”.
