Sands China and volunteers assemble 30,000 hygiene kits

Sands China, in collaboration with community volunteers, has assembled 30,000 hygiene kits for the global charity Clean the World. The event took place on Thursday at The Venetian Macao's Cotai Expo, marking the 12th consecutive year of Sands China's involvement in this initiative. The effort saw 330 volunteers from Sands China, the University of Saint Joseph, Sustaincia, Oxfam in Macau, and the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao come together to support the cause.

The majority of the kits—26,000—are destined for the Philippines, whilst 4,000 will be distributed to 11 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Macao and three institutions in Hong Kong. Each kit includes essential hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a card with an encouraging message, all packed in a reusable bag.

Sands China has been a pioneer in Macao, partnering with Clean the World to recycle hotel amenities since 2014. Grant Chum, CEO of Sands China Ltd, highlighted the company's commitment to leveraging resources to benefit both local and international communities. "To date, we have worked with our community partners to prepare more than 415,000 kits," Chum stated.

Shawn Seipler, founder and CEO of Clean the World, praised the collaboration, saying, "Every kit is a testament to the compassion and generosity of volunteers, partners, and Sands China."

This initiative is part of Sands Cares, the corporate citizenship programme of Las Vegas Sands Corp, which focuses on global health and environmental sustainability.
