Ajay Bakaya, managing director of Sarovar Hotels, pens the deal with Vishnu Wadhawan, director of Neelkanth Group ZambiaIndia's Sarovar Hotels has continued to expand its African portfolio with the signing of its first ever property in Zambia.
The Sarovar Premiere Lusaka is an 82-key all-suite hotel located in the centre of Zambia's capital city. Scheduled to open in 2018, the upscale property will also feature a restaurant, bar and outdoor dining area, plus a spa, swimming pool and conference facilities.
The signing of the new Sarovar Premiere Lusaka marks the latest stage on the company's African expansion strategy. The Mumbai-based hotel group now has a presence in five countries in Africa: Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Zambia.
These form part of a total collection of 75 hotels in 50 destinations, mainly in India, under Sarovar Premiere, Sarovar Portico, Hometel brands.
