Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur opens with 156 keys on the Chennai–Bangalore Highway

The new hotel marks Sarovar Hotels third owned hotel and the first under the Sarovar Portico brand

Sarovar Hotels inaugurated Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur—a modern, sustainably designed hotel strategically located on the Chennai–Bangalore Highway. The inauguration was held in the esteemed presence of  Federico J. González, Board Director, Groupe du Louvre;  K. Syama Raju, President, FHRAI;  Ajay K. Bakaya, Chairman, Sarovar Hotels & Director, Louvre Hotels India; and  Jatin Khanna, CEO, Sarovar Hotels. The property marks Sarovar’s third owned hotel, following Hometel Chandigarh and Hometel Roorkee, and underscores the group’s growing emphasis on infrastructure-led growth across India’s high-potential business corridors.

The hotel is designed as a benchmark in responsible and sustainable hospitality, delivering eco-conscious comfort for the modern business traveller. With a purified water supply in guest room, energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems, a solar roof, rainwater harvesting, and an in-house STP and bottling plant, the hotel reflects Sarovar's proactive approach towards greener operations. The property was built using eco-sensitive design principles and features low-impact construction techniques.

Federico J. González, Board Director, Groupe du Louvre, added: “India is a key strategic market for the Louvre Hotels Group, and Sarovar Hotels continues to play a pivotal role in our expansion here. The opening of Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur reinforces our commitment to investing in high-growth destinations while also championing sustainability and innovation in hospitality. We are proud to support developments that are not only commercially sound but also socially and environmentally responsible.”

Ajay K. Bakaya, Chairman, Sarovar Hotels & Director, Louvre Hotels India, said: “Sriperumbudur is one of the fastest-growing industrial zones in South India, and we are proud to introduce a hotel that not only meets the needs of modern business travelers but also reflects our commitment to responsible hospitality. This is a significant milestone—not just as our third owned hotel, but as our most sustainability-focused one yet. From design to operations, Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur represents our future-ready approach to hospitality, where guest comfort and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.”

A highlight of the 156 room hotel is its culinary landscape, featuring two signature venues. SPR Kitchen, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, offers a diverse menu of Indian and international dishes with nutritionist-curated options. It also introduces the region’s first “Bowl Meal” concept, served in eco-friendly ware—blending mindful eating with convenience. Complementing this is Chola Lounge, a tropical-themed bar that offers a stylish and relaxed ambience with curated greenery, ambient lighting, handcrafted cocktails, and a modern bar bites menu—perfect for unwinding after a long day.

Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur is also well-equipped to host large-scale events and conferences, featuring 7,245 sq. ft. of flexible indoor event space. Its flagship venue, Summit, is a 4,770 sq. ft. pillar-less banquet hall, the largest in the region, ideal for weddings and corporate events. Additional venues like Senate, Crescent, and a Board Room provide modular formats with state-of-the-art AV support, catering to both business and social gatherings.

With this opening, Sarovar Hotels strengthens its presence in Tamil Nadu, while continuing to prioritize experience-driven, sustainability-centric developments in India’s emerging business destinations.
