SIA passenger traffic climbs in September

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has released performance data for September. The carrier recorded a 4.8% increase in passenger traffic compared to September 2010. This figure lagged behind capacity increases of 5.8%, triggering a minor dip in flight load factors by 0.7 percentage points to 79.5%. The drop in load factor was mirrored across all regional routes, except West Asia and Africa which clime 3.2 points to 70.3%.
Meanwhile, Silk Air posted an improved performance with load factors climbing 0.7 points year of year to 71.7%. This was driven by an 11.9% increase in passenger traffic, which slightly exceeded capacity increases.
