Singapore Airlines sees record passenger growth in March 2026

Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group reported a significant 14.7% increase in passenger traffic for March 2026 compared to the previous year, surpassing the 7.2% rise in passenger capacity. The Group achieved a passenger load factor (PLF) of 90.6%, with SIA and its low-cost subsidiary, Scoot, recording monthly PLFs of 90.3% and 91.7%, respectively, marking a new monthly record for SIA.

The surge in passenger numbers was attributed to heightened demand for air travel ahead of the Easter holiday and increased Europe-bound traffic due to disruptions in Middle East air hubs caused by ongoing regional conflicts. The Group carried 3.8 million passengers in March, a 14.9% year-on-year increase, setting a new monthly record. This contributed to a total passenger carriage of 42.4 million for the fiscal year 2025/26, up 7.7% from the previous record.

On the cargo side, SIA experienced a 2.4% rise in cargo loads despite a 1.3% decrease in capacity, with a cargo load factor increase of 2.1 percentage points to 59.0%. This was partly due to spillover volumes from disrupted Middle East airspace.

In March, Scoot launched new services to Tokyo (Haneda), whilst both SIA and Scoot adjusted their Middle East operations, cancelling flights to Dubai and Jeddah due to geopolitical tensions. By the end of March, the Group's passenger network spanned 134 destinations across 35 countries, with SIA serving 77 destinations and Scoot 82. The cargo network covered 137 destinations in 36 countries
